Kansas State University

Kansas State University was founded in 1863. It was originally named Kansas State Agricultural College. In 1959 the name was changed to Kansas State University of Agriculture and Applied Science. The long form of the name is usually not used, and most people call it Kansas State University (KSU).

It is in Manhattan, Kansas on 668 acres with over 22,000 students attending.

The sports teams are called the Wildcats and they participate in the NCAA Division 1 and the Big 12 Conference.

Kansas State has gone on to capture 18 major conference crowns in basketball. The program has also appeared in 30 NCAA basketball tournaments.

Kansas State football has had since 1989 several rankings including #1 national ranking in 1198, #1 BCS ranking in 2012 and two conference championships. Between the years 1993 and 2003 they attended eleven straight bowl games. In 2016-2017 the team posted back to back bowl wins.
